PESB names Tarun Kumar Chopra for WAPCOS' Director (Finance) post

The PESB panel has recommended the name of Tarun Kumar Chopra for the post of Ditrector (Finance) of WAPCOS Limited on Monday

New Delhi: Tarun Kumar Chopra is set to be next Director (Finance) of WAPCOS Limited, a PSU under the Ministry of Jal Shakti. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) on Monday. Presently, he is serving as Deputy General Manager (Finance) at Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL).

Chopra has been recommended for the post of Director (Finance) of WAPCOS Limited from a list of nine candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel in its selection meeting held on July 13. The other candidates included senior finance executives from Hindustan Steelworks Construction Limited (HSCL), NBCC (India), NTPC, NHPC, Grid Controller of India Limited (Grid-India), REC Limited, GAIL (India) Limited and Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC).

As Director (Finance) of WAPCOS, Chopra will be a member on Board of Directors and will report to the Chairman & Managing Director. He will be overall in charge of finance, accounts and funds management of the organisation and will be responsible for evolving and formulating policies relating to finance and accounts as well as implementation.

The appointment will take effect after receiving the necessary approvals from the competent authority.
