PESB picks Achyut Ghatak for Coal India's Director (Technical) post

The PESB panel has recommended the name of Achyut Ghatak for the post of Director (Technical) of Coal India Limited (CIL) on Friday

New Delhi: Achyut Ghatak is set to be next Director (Technical) of Coal India Limited (CIL), a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Coal. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on August 23. Presently, he is serving as Director (Technical) at Central Mine Planning & Design Institute Limited (CMPDIL).

Ghatak has been recommended for the post of Director (Technical) of Coal India Limited from a list of 11 candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB Selection panel in its selection meeting held on August 23. Out of 11 candidates, four candidates were from NLC India Limited, two from Coal India Limited and one each from CMPDIL, NCL, MCL, ECL and WCL.

Ghatak obtained his Mining Engineering Degree in 1989 from Government Engineering College, Raipur and first class Mining certificate in 1992. He has vast experience of over 35 years in coal industry. Prior to join CMPDIL in January 2023, he served in various capacities at Coal India Limited.
