PESB picks Ajit Kumar Mishra for IRCON's Director (Works) role

Ajit Kumar Mishra has been recommended for the post of Director (Works) of Ircon International Limited on Saturday

New Delhi: Ajit Kumar Mishra is set to be next Director (Works) of Ircon International Limited (IRCON), a PSU under the Ministry of Railways. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) on Saturday. Presently, he is serving as Executive Director (Contract Management) at Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL), another PSU under the Ministry of Railways.

Mishra has been recommended for the post of Director (Works) of IRCON from a list of 11 candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB Selection Panel in its 9th Selection Meeting of 2025, held on February 1. Out of 11 candidates, seven candidates were from IRCON itself and one each from RITES Limited, Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), DFCCIL and Indian Railways.

As Director (Works) of IRCON, Mishra will be responsible for overseeing infrastructure projects in India and abroad, ensuring their efficient planning, estimation, conceptualization, structuring, and execution. His role involves contributing to the company’s order book by securing and managing projects, promoting indigenization in line with national policies, and ensuring compliance with statutory and management functions to drive operational excellence.
