Chitta Ranjan Mohapatra set to be Director In-charge of SAIL's Bhilai Steel Plant

PESB has recommended the name of Chitta Ranjan Mohapatra for the post of Director In-charge of SAIL's Bhilai Steel Plant

New Delhi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended the name of Chitta Ranjan Mohapatra for the post of Director In-charge of Bhilai Steel Plant, one of the flagship units of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL).

The selection was made during PESB Meeting No. 28/2025, held on April 19 at 9:30 AM. Mohapatra is currently serving as Executive Director (Works) at Bokaro Steel Plant, also a unit of SAIL. His appointment now awaits final clearance from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).

12 candidates were interviewed for the top post, which included senior executives from various SAIL plants and subsidiaries, as well as officials from NMDC Steel Limited and MECON.
