PESB recommends Ghanshyam Das Gupta for Hindustan Copper's Director (Mining) post

The PESB panel has recommended the name of Ghanshyam Das Gupta for the post of Director (Mining) of Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL) on Friday

New Delhi: Ghanshyam Das Gupta is set to be next Director (Mining) of Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL), a PSU under the Ministry of Mines. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Friday. Presently, he is serving as Executive Director & Unit Head in the same organisation.

Gupta has been recommended for the post of Director (Mining) of Hindustan Copper Ltd from a list of 11 candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel in its 5th selection meeting of 2026 held on January 23. Other applicants included senior executives from Hindustan Copper Limited, NMDC Limited, NLC India Limited and International Coal Ventures Limited (ICVL).

The final appointment of Gupta as Director (Mining) at Hindustan Copper Ltd will be subject to approval by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) and other requisite clearances, as per the prevailing guidelines.
