New Delhi: Salil Kumar Nag is set to be next Director (Technical) of Uranium Corporation of India Limited (UCIL), a Schedule ‘B’ public sector enterprise under the Department of Atomic Energy. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Monday. Presently, he is serving as General Manager (Mining) at Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL).

Nag has been recommended for the post of Director (Technical) post of UCIL from a pool of ten candidates who were interviewed by the PESB panel in its selection meeting held on June 22. He competed against candidates from UCIL, Hindustan Copper Limited, MOIL Limited, NLC India Limited and the Department of Atomic Energy.
Among the candidates interviewed were senior executives from UCIL, including Manoj Kumar, Chanchal Manna, Suman Sarkar and Rajesh Kumar Mishra, as well as Ravindra Ghattuwar of Hindustan Copper, Rajesh Bhattacharya of MOIL, Cheruku Dayanand and Neeraj Kumar of NLC India, and Rakesh Kumar from the Department of Atomic Energy.

Nag is a B.E. in Mining Engineering. He joined HCL as a Graduate Engineer Trainee (Mining) in the year 1995 and subsequently rose to the current position.
Initially, he was posted at Khetri Copper Complex, Rajasthan, where he gained rich and diverse experience in underground metal mine both track and trackless mining. He also worked as Mine Planner at Kolihan Copper Mine. Over the years, he has developed strong expertise in managing underground mine planning, ensuring the smooth and efficient performance. He played a key role for mine expansion programme of the company.
