PESB selects Samuel Praveen Kumar for CWC's Director (Marketing & Corporate Planning) post

The PESB Panel has recommended the name of Samuel Praveen Kumar for the post of Director (Marketing & Corporate Planning) of Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) on Tuesday

New Delhi: Samuel Praveen Kumar is set to be next Director (Marketing & Corporate Planning) of Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC), a PSU under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) during the PESB Meeting No. 97/2024, held on December 17.

Currently, Kumar is serving as Joint Secretary (Extension, Investment & Price Support) at the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare

The PESB selection process saw participation from a diverse pool of candidates representing various public sector undertakings (PSUs) and government departments. The shortlisted candidates included senior executives from prominent organisations such as Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), Hindustan Copper Limited, Container Corporation of India Limited (CONCOR), and Engineers India Limited (EIL), among others.

After a rigorous interview process, Kumar emerged as the most suitable candidate for the role. The PESB's recommendation will now be sent for further approval by the competent authorities before the formal appointment.

CWC plays a crucial role in providing logistics and warehousing support across the country. As Director (Marketing & Corporate Planning), Kumar will be responsible for supervising the commercial, marketing, planning, scientific storage of commodities, rail-based logistics, container train operations, container freight stations, inland clearance depots, air cargo business, development of Logistic Park, port logistic business, auto logistics, technical and quality control and quality system function of the organisation. He will also be responsible for new business and diversification in logistic sector to promote business in the corporation.
