New Delhi: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) has appointed Venkata Subrahamanayam Vallurie as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with effect from July 1. He assumed charge following the approval of the company's Board of Directors at its meeting held on June 10.

A qualified Cost Accountant from the Institute of Cost Accountants of India, Vallurie brings over 35 years of post-qualification experience, including more than 32 years with Power Grid. During his long association with the Maharatna PSU, he has served at both the Regional Headquarters and the Corporate Centre, handling several key finance functions.
Vallurie possesses extensive expertise in resource mobilisation, financial concurrence, enterprise resource planning (ERP), financial accounting and internal audit. He has played a key role in driving the digitisation of Power Grid's finance operations, including the implementation and enhancement of SAP systems across the organisation.

Earlier in his career, he served in the Finance Department of Northern Region-I and as Head of Finance in the Telecom Department. Prior to his appointment as CFO, he was serving as Head of Finance (HoF) of Southern Region-I.
According to the company's regulatory filing, Vallurie's appointment has taken effect from July 1, 2026, and his tenure will be governed by the service rules of Power Grid. The company also stated that he has no relationship with any member of the Board of Directors.
