PTC India appoints Sukhdev Singh (IAS, Retd.) as Non-Executive Chairman

New Delhi: PTC India Limited on Wednesday announced the appointment of Sukhdev Singh (IAS, Retd.) as its Non-Executive Chairman, in line with the company’s move to separate the roles of Chairman and Managing Director.

The decision was approved by the company’s Board of Directors at its meeting held on April 16, and will be effective from the date of receipt of consent from the CMDs of the four promoter companies. Singh will hold the position until November 10, 2028, coinciding with the completion of his tenure as an Independent Director.

The appointment follows the company’s earlier decision, announced in February 2026, to bifurcate the combined post of Chairman and Managing Director into two distinct roles—Non-Executive Chairman and Managing Director (Executive)—as part of its governance restructuring.

Singh, is an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of 1987-batch. He brings nearly 37 years of administrative experience across Bihar and Jharkhand. He retired in 2024 after serving in several senior roles, including Chief Secretary of Jharkhand, along with key positions such as Additional Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary and District Magistrate across multiple departments.

An engineering graduate from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh, Singh was appointed as an Independent Director on the board of PTC India in November 2025.
