Pushp Kumar Nayar set to be next Director (HR) of BPCL

The PESB Panel has recommended the name of Pushp Kumar Nayar for the post of Director (Human Resources) of BPCL on Tuesday

New Delhi: Pushp Kumar Nayar is set to be next Director (Human Resources) of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoPNG). He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Tuesday. Presently, he is serving as Executive Director (HRD) in the same organisation.

Nayar has been recommended for the post of Director (HR) of BPCL from a list of 12 candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel in its 16th selection meeting held on February 24. The shortlisted candidates included key HR leaders from BPCL as well as other major PSUs such as Indian Oil Corporation Limited, GAIL (India) Limited, and NTPC Limited, along with officials from the Indian Railways.

Nayar is a seasoned oil & gas professional with over three decades of experience in oil and energy sector. Nayar holds an MBA in Finance from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University and a B.Sc. (Hons) in Microbiology from University of Delhi.

Nayar has built a diverse career spanning more than 32–33 years, holding key leadership roles across retail marketing, lubricants, supply chain, and human resources. Over the years, he has worked extensively in operations, sales, marketing, brand management, channel development, and city gas distribution businesses, reflecting a well-rounded industry profile.

He has previously served as Retail Marketing Regional Head, Lubricants Marketing Head, and Head of Supply Chain, and has also led retail operations in southern India. His experience includes overseeing large-scale business portfolios and driving market expansion initiatives.

In addition to his business leadership roles, Nayar has contributed to digital transformation initiatives within BPCL’s lubricants value chain, including the implementation of QR-code-based solutions and automation projects. He has also been associated with the development of advanced lubricants blending infrastructure.
