Rajeev Kumar Vishnoi gets another 6 months extension as NHPC CMD

New Delhi: NHPC Limited on Thursday said THDC’s Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Rajeev Kumar Vishnoi will continue to hold the additional charge as its CMD for another six months. Vishnoi has been holding the additional charge of NHPC’s CMD post since December 13, 2022.

The order is effective from September 1, 2023, according to a regulatory filing.

"Ministry of Power vide order dated 21.09.2023 has conveyed approval of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) to extend the additional charge of the post of CMD, NHPC Ltd assigned to Rajeev Kumar Vishnoi, CMD, THDCIL for a further period of six months w.e.f. 01.09.2023, or till the regular incumbent joins the post or until further orders, whichever is the earliest," NHPC said in the filing.

On April 6, NHPC informed the bourses that Vishnoi was given the additional charge as its CMD for two months effective March 1, 2023, or till a regular incumbent joins the post or until further orders, whichever is the earliest.

In another order on May 10, the state-owned hydropower company said his additional charge as NHPC CMD has been extended for another six months effective from March 1, 2023.

Vishnoi has more than 35 years of vast experience in the design, engineering and construction of hydro project structures. He is a graduate in Civil Engineering from BITS Pilani and he has also attained the qualification of MBA and has undergone Professional Up-gradation Programme in the design and Construction of Hydraulic Structures and Hydropower Constructions from the State University of Moscow, Russia. He has also attended Advanced Management Programme in Leading Strategic Change from ASCI, Hyderabad in association with SDA Bacconi School of Management, Italy.
