Rajesh Kumar Agarwal appointed as Director (Finance) of PFC

The Govt has approved the appointment of Rajesh Kumar Agarwal as Director (Finance) of PFC Limited with effect from April 23

New Delhi: The Government of India has appointed Rajesh Kumar Agarwal as Director (Finance) of Power Finance Corporation Limited (PFC), with effect from April 23, 2026.

Prior to his elevation to the board-level position, Agarwal was serving as Executive Director (Finance) at PFC since January 1, 2024. With over 31 years of experience in the power and financial sectors, he has extensive expertise in corporate finance and strategic financial management.

Agarwal is a Commerce (Honours) graduate and a Member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India. Since joining PFC in 2009, he has handled a wide range of critical functions including corporate accounts, taxation, fund management and banking, lending policy compliance, restructured assets management, fund raising, and loan disbursement.

During his tenure, he has played a key role in driving digital reforms and strengthening financial reporting frameworks within the organisation. He has also been an active contributor to professional forums as a distinguished speaker.

Before joining PFC, Agarwal worked with leading power sector organisations such as NTPC Limited, Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited, and Delhi Transco Limited, where he handled core finance functions along with key responsibilities in tariff matters, power purchase agreement (PPA) negotiations, and implementation of power sector reforms.

His appointment is expected to further strengthen PFC’s financial leadership as the company continues to play a pivotal role in funding India’s power and infrastructure sectors.
