Singh has been holding the additional charge as EIL CVO since Shruti Agnihotriy, a 1998-batch officer of the Indian Railway Accounts Service (IRAS) and the regular CVO of EIL, is on leave.

According to an order issue from the Department of Personnel (DoPT) on May 23, Singh will continue to hold the additional charge at EIL during the absence of Agnihotriy. The extension will be effective beyond April 28, 2025, up to May 30, 2025, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
