S Usha going to be next Director (Market Operation) of Grid-India

The PESB panel has recommended the name of S Usha for the post of Director (Market Operation) of Grid Controller of India Limited (Grid-India) on Thursday

New Delhi: S Usha is set to be next Director (Market Operation) of Grid Controller of India Limited (Grid-India), a PSU under the Ministry of Power. She has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Thursday. Presently, she is serving as Executive Director at company’s National Load Despatch Centre.

Usha has been recommended for the post of Director (Market Operation) of Grid-India from a list of 11 candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel in its selection meeting held on October 16. Out of 11 candidates, five candidates were from Grid-India itself, two candidates each from NTPC Limited & Power Grid and one each from SECI and NTPC Limited.

Director (Market Operation) of Grid-India, Usha will be a member of the board of directors and will report to the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). She will be responsible for the commercial operations, electricity market operations, open access in inter-state transmission, power exchange operations, accounting and settlement of electricity transmitted through the grid, deviation settlement, pool account operations, integration of renewable energy, REC mechanism, and legal and regulatory affairs.
