S Usha takes over as Director (Market Operation) of Grid-India

S Usha has assumed charge as Director (Market Operation) of Grid-India Ltd with effect from January 28

New Delhi: S Usha has assumed charge as Director (Market Operation) of Grid-India, a PSU under the Ministry of Power, with effect from January 28. Prior to this, she was serving as as Executive Director at company’s National Load Despatch Centre.

With this assignment, Usha has become the first woman to hold this position.

A 1989-batch B. Tech (Electrical Engineering) graduate from Calicut University, Usha brings over 35 years of rich experience in the Indian power sector across CEA, Power Grid, and Grid -India. During his tenure at National Load Despatch Centre, she has made notable contributions to power market reforms and the secure operation of the national grid.

With her vast domain expertise and proven leadership, Ms. Usha, in her present role, will be looking after the market operations, regulatory implementation, and system efficiency functions at GRID-INDIA, providing strategic direction to electricity market development while reinforcing Grid-India’s commitment to inclusive and progressive governance.
