New Delhi: Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) on Tuesday announced a change in its top management, with Saleem Ahmad assuming charge as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), while Sukhmal Chand Jain has ceased to hold the post of CMD with effect from December 23.
In a regulatory filing to stock exchanges, RVNL said Sukhmal Chand Jain has ceased to be Chairman and Managing Director of the company as part of the leadership transition.
The company further informed that Saleem Ahmad, who was earlier serving as Director (Projects) at NBCC (India) Ltd, has taken over as Chairman and Managing Director of RVNL with effect from December 23. RVNL also confirmed that Ahmad has not been debarred from holding the office of director by any order of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) or any other authority.
Ahmad holds a degree in Civil Engineering from Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi, and brings with him over 35 years of experience in the construction and infrastructure sector. His professional background includes execution of large-scale infrastructure projects with expertise in bridges, tunnels, and residential and commercial developments. Prior to NBCC, he served as Executive Director (Civil) at Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd and was also associated with Mumbai Port Trust .
RVNL said Ahmad has made significant contributions to sustainable infrastructure and has presented papers at national and international forums. During his tenure at DMRC, he played a key role in designing and implementing last-mile connectivity solutions.
