New Delhi: Sanjay Kumar Panigrahi is set to be next Managing Director (MD) of Jute Corporation of India (JCI) Limited, a PSU under the Ministry of Textile. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Tuesday. Presently, he is serving Chief General Manager (Marketing) at the Cotton Corporation of India Limited.
Panigrahi has been recommended for the post of Managing Director of JCI from a list of 11 candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB panel in its meeting held on June 17. Out of 11 candidates, three candidates were from Cotton Corporation, two from MMTC Limited, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), HPCL, MRPL, RINL-VSP and Indian Navy.
As MD of JCI, Panigrahi will be the Chief Executive of the organisation. He will be responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of JCI, ensuring its operations align with its mandate of supporting jute farmers by providing price support and procuring raw jute.
