Sanjoy Bhattacharya appointed as CMD of Andrew Yule

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Sanjoy Bhattacharya as Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of Andrew Yule & Company Limited, a Kolkata based PSU under the Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, on Wednesday. According to an order, issued on May 27, Bhattacharya has been appointed on the post for a period with effect from the date of his assumption of charge of the post on or after September 1, till August 31, 2023, i.e. the date of his superannuation, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He is currently serving as Director (Planning) in the same organisation. With his promotion as CMD of Andrew Yule & Company Limited, he will replace Debasis Jana.

Earlier, PSU Watch had reported that Bhattacharya was recommended for the post of CMD of Andrew Yule & Company Limited by the PESB panel on February 6. He was selected form a list of five candidates, who were interviewed by the selection panel.

Education & background

Bhattacharya has completed his bachelor of engineering (Mechanical Engineering) from Jadavpur University and a post-graduate diploma in marketing management from the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). He also completed a diploma in computers in office management and computer applications from IGNOU. He has about 34 years experience in Andrew Yule & Company Limited. His experience includes design engineering, research & development, manufacturing and applications of light to heavy-duty industrial fans for all sectors of the Industry.
