Sarada Bhushan Mohanty set to be next CMD of IREL

Sarada Bhushan Mohanty has been recommended for the post of Chairman & Managing Director of IREL (India) Limited on July 7

New Delhi: Sarada Bhushan Mohanty is set to be next Chairman & Managing Director of IREL (India) Limited, a PSU under the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE). He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) on July 5. Presently, he is serving as Director (Finance) in the same organisation.

Mohanty has been recommended for the post of CMD of IREL (India) Limited from a list of 12 candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel in its selection meeting held on July 5. Out of 12 candidates, three candidates were from IREL (India) Limited, two candidates each from NLC (India) Limited & Indian Railways and one candidate each from MOIL Limited, NMDC Limited, NALCO, CCL and HOCL.

As CMD of IREL, Mohanty will be the Chief Executive of the company and will be accountable to its Board of Directors and Govt. of India. He will be responsible for the efficient functioning of the company for achieving its corporate objectives and performance parameters in terms of comprehensive and diverse eco system of rare earth comprising of mining, beneficiation, mineral processing/separation, RE extraction, RE refining, RE metal and RE permanent magnets.
