New Delhi: Satish Kumar Sinha is set to be next Director (Finance) of GAIL (India) Limited, a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoPNG). He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Tuesday. Presently, he is serving as Executive Director (Finance & Accounts) in the same organisation.

Sinha has been recommended for the post of Director (Finance) of GAIL (India) Limited from a list of 11 candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel, in its selection meeting held on March 17. Out of 11 candidates, five candidates were from GAIL itselef, and one each from GAIL Gas Limited, Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) Limited, Ircon International Limited, HPCL, Indian Oil, Indian Railways and Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited.
A Commerce graduate and a qualified Cost and Management Accountant, Sinha began his career with GAIL in 1994 as a Management Trainee (Finance & Accounts). Over the years, he has built extensive expertise across a wide spectrum of financial functions, including corporate finance, accounting, taxation, treasury operations, budgeting, project evaluation, and mergers & acquisitions.
He has also played a strategic role in business development, MoU formulation, and financial concurrence, while remaining actively involved in investor relations and engagements with the analyst community.
Sinha has contributed significantly to GAIL’s digital transformation initiatives, notably playing a key role in the implementation of SAP ERP systems, enhancing operational efficiency and financial transparency within the organisation.

In addition to his executive responsibilities, he currently serves as a Director at GAIL Mangalore Petrochemical Ltd. (GMPL) and has previously been on the board of GAIL Global Singapore Pte Limited (GGSPL).
The PESB recommendation will now be forwarded to the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) for final approval.
