Seema Gupta assumes additional charge of Director (Finance) at POWERGRID

New Delhi: Seema Gupta has assumed additional charge as Director (Finance) of Powergrid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Power. Currently, she is serving as Director (Operations) in the organisation. She has been appointed on the post for a period of three months with effect from May 6, or till the appointment of a regular incumbent of the post, or until further orders, whichever is the earlier. This information has been shared by the Power PSU during the regulatory filing to the stock exchange on Thursday. 

Ministry of Power vide Office Order dt. 14.05.2020, has entrusted the additional charge of the post of the Director (Finance) to Mrs. Seema Gupta, Director (Operations) for a period of three months w.e.f. 06.05.2020, or till the appointment of a regular incumbent of the post, or until further orders, whichever is the earliest. In terms of the said Govt. Order dt. 14.05.2020, Mrs. Seema Gupta has assumed the additional charge of the post of Director (Finance) with immediate effect, the company said.

Seema Gupta's Profile 

Prior to taking up the assignment as Director (Operations) of POWERGRID, she was serving as Executive Director (Northern Region-I) of the same organisation. She is a graduate engineer from Delhi College of Engineering (DCE) and also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from IMT.  Gupta has more than 35 years of experience in the power sector and has handled multi-disciplinary functions like Commercial, International Business, Corporate Planning, Corporate Monitoring Group and Central Transmission Utility in the Company. Before joining POWERGRID in 1991, Seema has worked for about 7 years in NTPC. She was appointed as a Director on our Board in March 2018.
