SM Ramanathan set to be next Director (Engineering, Research & Development) of BHEL

SM Ramanathan has been recommended for the post of Director (Engineering, Research & Development) of BHEL by the PESB panel on Tuesday

New Delhi: SM Ramanathan is set to be next Director (Engineering, Research & Development) of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Heavy Industries. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (Panel) on Tuesday. Presently, he is serving as Executive Director at BHEL’s Tiruchi Complex.

Ramanathan has been recommended for the post of Director (Engineering, Research & Development) of BHEL from a list of 10 candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel in its selection meeting held on December 31. Out of 10 candidates, nine candidates were from BHEL itself and one candidate was from NTPC Limited.

Ramanathan is a Mechanical Engineering Graduate from IIT-Madras. He also holds Master's degree in Stress and Vibration Analysis from Engineering College (Now National Institute of Technology), Bhopal. He has over 35 years of diverse experience in various capacities in BHEL.
