Sukhmal Chand Jain (IRSE) assumes charge as CMD of RVNL

Sukhmal Chand Jain (IRSE) has taken over charge as new Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of RVNL Limited with effect from September 1

New Delhi: Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has announced that Sukhmal Chand Jain (IRSE) has assumed charge as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of the company with effect from September 1.

Jain, an officer of the Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE, 1988 batch), brings over 35 years of experience in railway infrastructure, operations, policy, and safety. He holds a B. Tech in Civil Engineering from Pantnagar University and an M. Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi.

Throughout his career, Jain has held several key positions, including Divisional Railway Manager, Delhi, where he managed one of the busiest divisions and oversaw critical operations such as Covid coaches and Oxygen Special trains. He has also served as Executive Director (Bridges & Works) in the Ministry of Railways, Principal Chief Engineer of NCR Prayagraj during the Maha Kumbh, and Principal Chief Safety Officer of Western Railway.

In addition, Jain has contributed significantly to bridge research and international collaborations during his tenure at the Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO). He has represented Indian Railways on global platforms, with exposure to railway systems in Japan, Finland, Malaysia, Singapore, China, and Thailand.

Confirming his appointment, RVNL stated that Jain has not been debarred from holding the office of director by any order of SEBI or other authorities.
