Meanwhile, NSE said that markets regulator Sebi has, in principle, agreed to settle the long-pending co-location and dark fibre cases involving the bourse for Rs 1,491.21 crore and asked the exchange to pay the balance Rs 714.74 crore, after adjusting Rs 776.47 crore already deposited towards the settlement amount.

"The Board of Directors, in its meeting held on July 30, 2026, has approved the payment of the said amount of Rs 714.74 crore pursuant to the terms of the settlement," NSE said.

The exchange had initially filed two settlement applications with Sebi on June 20, 2025 covering the co-location and dark fibre matters, for a cumulative amount of Rs 1,387.39 crore. Subsequently, on March 13, 2026, it revised the settlement terms, increasing the cumulative amount to Rs 1,491.21 crore.

In June, NSE filed its preliminary IPO papers with SEBI.

The issue, which is entirely an offer for sale (OFS), comprises 14.89 crore equity shares to be sold by existing shareholders, amounting to nearly 6 percent of the exchange's equity.

With no fresh issue component, the proposed Rs 30,000-crore IPO is expected to be one of the largest ever in the Indian capital markets"
