Ranchi: Jharkhand minister Dipika Pandey Singh on Thursday launched a state-level incubator programme here to develop a robust entrepreneurial ecosystem for women-led rural enterprises. The three-year Jharkhand Incubator Programme aims to identify, incubate, finance, formalise, and scale women-owned or led rural micro and nano enterprises in non-farm manufacturing and services across the state, an official said.

The programme is an initiative led by the Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (JSLPS), and will be implemented by the IMM Calcutta Innovation Park (IIMCIP).

“So far, Jharkhand's identity has primarily been associated with its mineral wealth, but the hard work, skills, and entrepreneurial spirit of our rural women will now also become the state's identity. With this very objective, this initiative has been launched,” said Singh, the Jharkhand Rural Development Minister.

In the first phase, support will be provided to 150 women-led enterprises over three years through training, mentoring, financial guidance, branding, marketing, and e-commerce to connect them to the market, she said.

“Our goal is to ensure continuous growth in the income and business of these enterprises, making them self-reliant and competitive,” Singh said.

The minister added that with the support of IIMCIP, institutional collaboration and training will be ensured for capacity building and empowerment of around 1.5 lakh women enterprises operating under JSLPS and the workers associated with them.
