New Delhi: Anshul Bhargava is the new Director (HR) of Power System Operation Corporation (POSOCO), a PSU under the Ministry of Power. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved his appointment on March 9. According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Bhargava has been appointed as Director (HR) of POSOCO for a period of five years with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post or till the date of his superannuation, or until further orders, whichever is the earlier. Currently, Bharvaga is working with PNB Housing Finance Limited as Chief People Officer & Head HR, Administration. Earlier, Meenakshi Davar was serving as Director (HR) in the organisation.
Earlier, PSU Watch had reported that Bhargava was recommended for the post of Director (HR) of POSOCO by the PESB panel on July 17, 2020. He was selected for the post from the list of eight candidates who were interviewed by the selection panel. The list had three candidates from POSOCO and one each from Engineers India Limited (EIL), NHPC Limited, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and DFCCIL.
Bhargava has completed his schooling from Scindia School, Gwalior, and Sacred Heart Convent, Mathura, and higher studies in Human Resource Management from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Calcutta. He is a strong human resource professional with a demonstrated history of working in the financial services industry. He also has hands-on experience in business planning, operations management, HR consulting, banking, and executive search.
As Director (HR) of POSOCO, Bhargava will be overall in charge of coordinating and implementing personnel and industrial relations policies, management functions, administrative control, training, human resource development etc, in the organisation. Currently, Meenakshi Davar is serving as Director (HR) at POSOCO and she is set to superannuate on January 1, 2021.
Power System Operation Corporation Limited (POSOCO) is a wholly-owned government enterprise under the Ministry of Power. Earlier it was a wholly-owned subsidiary of Powergrid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID). The company was formed in March 2009 to handle the power management functions of POWERGRID. POSOCO is responsible for managing the power system operations – a mission-critical activity, with security, economy and reliability.
