New Delhi/Kolkata: BCPL Railway Infrastructure Limited on Wednesday said that it has completed its target electrification work of the Indian Railway of about 289.5 Track Kilometer during the financial year 2020-21.

In a regulatory filing to the stock exchange, the company said, "TKM is quite enthused in updating its esteemed stakeholders about their recent achievement where the company has successfully energised Electrified Railway Tracks of about 289.5 Track Kilometer (TKM) during the financial year 2020-21, at various Railway Zones, thereby contributing in running of trains with Electric Traction which in turn would reduce pollution and the country's dependence on imported fossil fuels."

Earlier, in January the company had informed that it received a letter of acceptance (LoA) from Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) for an order worth a little above Rs 51 crore. The total size of the order amounts to Rs 51.6 crore which is expected to be completed within a period of six months from the date of commencement.
