BDL appoints 5 Independent Directors on its Board

New Delhi: Ministry of Defence has appointed five Independent Directors on the Board of Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Defence. According to BDL's regulatory filing to the stock exchanges on Monday informed that Sunil Chintaman Mone, Sanhamitra Mishra, Rajendra Singh Shekhawat, Nanda Kumar Subburaman and Dr Pawan Sthapak have been appointed as Non-Official Independent Directors on the Board of BDL.

Here are the brief profiles of the newly appointed Independent Directors:

Sunil Chintaman Mone

Sunil Chintaman Mone is a Mumbai based practising Chartered Accountant. After passing a bachelor of commerce degree, he cleared his CA exams in the year 1981. Presently he is associated as staff consultant of Asian Development Bank as Senior Financial Management Specialist for projects. He is also associated as Financial Management Specialist with Grant Thornton projects. Prior to this he has rich experience in private sector audits, taxation and was empanelled with SBI for industries loans assessments. He has 22 years of experience also with the government sector and has been very active in the finance aspects of CSS schemes, PMGSY, MGNREGS, IWMP, IRRIGATION CORP, ULBs PFMS. Tourism etc.

Sanghamitra Mishra

Sanghamitra Mishra currently working as a professor in SIKHA 'O' Anusandhan. She is heading the Critical Care Unit of the Institute and also looks after the Cardio-thoracic Anesthesia part & research initiative of the department. She is one of the rare faculty having degrees from the Indian College of Critical Care (Indian Diploma in Critical Care Medicine), fellowship in Cardiac Anesthesia from Narayan Hrudayalaya, Bengaluru, Certificate Course in Research Methodology from Indian Institute of Public Health Research University Gandhinagar and fellowship in 2D ECHO cardiography (Medvarsity) in addition to her regular degree of MD in Anesthesiology. She has work experience in both the private and public sectors namely MKCG Medical College Berhampur, SCB Medical College Cuttack, Kalinga Hospital Bhubaneswar, Narayan Hrudayalaya Bengaluru, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital New Delhi and IMS & SUM Hospital Bhubaneswar.

Rajendra Singh Shekhawat

Rajendra Singh Shekhawat has a degree in B Sc (Science Graduate) and LLB and has retired as Add. Superintendent of Police (Rajasthan Police). He worked as Astt. Commissioner of Police in Rajasthan Police from January 1, 2011, to August 1, 2012, and Addl SP Anti-Corruption Bureau in Rajasthan Police from August 1, 2012, to January 13, 2013. He has received the President Police Medal, the highest award of the Police Department for Distinguished service awarded by the former President APJ Abdul Kalam.

Nanda Kumar Subburaman

Nandakumar Subburaman is the founder CEO of Perfint Healthcare. He started his career in GE Healthcare and held various responsibilities in Supply Chain, Operations, Six Sigma, Sales and Finance. His last role at GE Healthcare was that of Vice President, Finance – South Asia. He is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, India and of the Government College of Engineering, Tirunelveli, India.

Dr Pawan Sthapak

Dr Pawan Sthapak has degrees in MBBS, DOMS and MS. He is Director in Janjyoti Super Specialty Eye Hospital and Dada Virendra Puri ji eye Institute. He is National Convenor of Cornea Andhtva Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (CAMBA) and Executive Council Member – National Institute for the empowerment of the persons with visual disabilities (NIEPVD). In 2009 he was awarded by the Indian Red Cross Society for delivering excellent Medicinal Services.
