BDL celebrates Hindi Fortnight and Hindi Diwas

Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) celebrated Hindi Fortnight Valedictory and Hindi Diwas programme on September 14 through a video conference

New Delhi/Hyderabad: Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) celebrated Hindi Fortnight Valedictory and Hindi Diwas programme on September 14 through a video conference. On this occasion, directors, senior officials and Members of the Official Language Implementation Committee of the company were present. BDL CMD Commodore Siddharth Mishra (Retd) presided over the programme.

At the outset, HR Head N Satyanarayana welcomed the members present. Further, the Hindi Diwas message of Home Minister Amit Shah was broadcasted and the message of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was read out.

Addressing the gathering, Director (Production) P Radha Krishna said that effective communication plays a vital role in production units. "This becomes even more important in an organisation like BDL as we constantly interact and prepare documents with suppliers and production partners located across the country. Since Hindi is the Link Language of the country and connects all language-speaking people, therefore, the use of Hindi in such areas strengthens mutual cooperation and business relations and also helps in removing obstacles in the area of production," he said. Keeping this in view, he appealed to everyone to contribute more and more production by using Hindi in speaking and writing.

Director (Finance) N Srinivasulu congratulated the Official Language Department for receiving the 'Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar' for the work of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee carried out by BDL and said that the official language is being implemented very effectively in BDL and most of the higher officials are using Hindi on Computers and contributing in OL Implementation. He suggested that the use of official language can further be expanded by giving training to the officers and employees of different departments on fortnightly basis to practice the use of Hindi on computers according to their work nature.

The BDL CMD congratulated the cash awardees of the competitions organised during the Hindi Fortnight and the incentive scheme beneficiaries and said that right from our freedom struggle, 'Swaraj', 'Swadeshi' and 'Swabhasha' have been our basic motives. After achieving Swaraj, there was a constant emphasis on 'Swadeshi' in the technical and industrial world. Today's self-reliant India is a step forward to that base. Therefore, along with being self-reliant in production, it should also be our priority to be self-reliant in our own language as well. "We usually do think in our own language. But, we express our original thoughts in another language. Therefore, it is the need of the hour for every one of us to have knowledge of our mother tongue and official language for work," he said.

Referring to Articles 343 and 351 mentioned in the 'Rajbhasha Pratigya' issued by the Department of Official Language, he said that various language-speaking officers and employees of BDL have been contributing continuously to the development of the organisation by doing administrative and technical work in Hindi. Also, they have been receiving awards consequently by participating in competitions at the Organisation level and at the inter-PSU level.

Congratulating all the member offices and officers and employees for their contribution to the Rajbhasha Kirti Award received for the work of TOLIC (U) for the period 2019-20, he appealed to everyone to maintain and raise the performance to the next level.

The programme was concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Narasimham Shivkoti. The programme was conducted by Deputy General Manager (HR-OL) Homnidhi Sharma with the active participation of the Official Language Department Team.
