Hyderabad: While the whole nation is united in fighting to control the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) disease, the PSUs are coming ahead to do their bit. Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), a Hyderabad based Miniratna Defence PSU has also made a significant contribution towards it. The DPSU has contributed an amount of Rs 9.02 crore to Prime Minister's citizen assistance and relief in emergency situation fund (PM-CARES fund) to aid fight against COVID-19.

What is important to mention here is that the aid has been raised through the contribution of one day salary by the employees of the company and BDL's corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds. COVID-19 which has been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) is still much in control in India. Though many countries across the world are facing an unprecedented disaster due to this coronavirus-borne disease. As a result, a national disaster has been declared under the Disaster Management Act-2005 and various provisions of the same have been invoked.

As per Prime Minister's call for the nation's help in the Coronavirus (COVID-19) fight, many PSU and corporate have joined hand and supporting the nation's fight against COVID-19  in their possible ways. The CMD of BDL Cmde Siddharth Mishra(Retd) informed through twitter about the donation BDL has made.

Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL)

Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) is a manufacturer of ammunitions and missile systems. It was founded in 1970 in Hyderabad, Telangana. BDL was established in the year 1970 as a manufacturing base for guided weapon systems. Begun with a pool of engineers drawn from Indian Ordnance Factories, DRDO and aerospace industries, BDL began by producing a first-generation anti-tank guided missile – the "French SS11B1." This product was a culmination of a licence agreement the government entered into with Aerospatiale. BDL has three manufacturing units, located at Kanchanbagh Hyderabad (Telangana), Bhanur, Medak district of Telangana and Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh).
