BEL wins ‘State Export’ excellence award

Bangalore: Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Defence has won the Karnataka 'State Export' excellence award for the year 2016-17. The 'State Export' award was received by General Manager (international marketing)/CO of BEL, Anil Pant and Assistant General Manager (international marketing)/CO, HP Srinivas Rao from the chief minister of Karnataka BS Yediyurappa at a ceremony held in Bengaluru recently. BEL is laying enhanced thrust on Exports by expanding its geo-spatial reach and through partnerships. The Export order book of BEL was US $ 116.62 million as on April 1, 2019.

State Export Excellence Award

The government of Karnataka has introduced 'State Awards for best performance in exports from 1992-93 as one of the important steps towards recognizing the efforts of exporters. The presentation of awards for outstanding export performance is an annual event, aimed at boosting exporters who have excelled in exporting the products or commodities.

This award also stimulates prospective exporters and others to foray into the international trade space, thereby fostering a spirit of healthy competition amongst the industries and exporters of the state to achieve greater export performance. Visvesvaraya Trade Promotion Centre is the nodal agency of the Government of Karnataka for the selection and conferring of awards to the exporters for their best performance.
