BEML observes ‘Swachhta Pakhwada’

New Delhi: As a part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan or Clean India Mission, the country-wide campaign initiated by the government for nationwide cleanliness, BEML LIMITED, a Miniratna PSU under Ministry of Defence, observed a fortnight-long 'Swachhta Pakhwada' program from December 1 to December 15, across its units for creating and spreading awareness about cleanliness.

On this occasion 'Swachhta Pledge' was also administered for encouraging the observance of cleanliness by individuals.

During this fortnight, disposing of scrap materials; cleanliness drive at the public places, township; weeding out of old files & old equipment; plantation of tree saplings, fumigation, disposal of e-waste, clearing drainage etc. were undertaken.

To spread awareness about cleanliness, posters and banners were displayed at various strategic locations in and around factory complexes and residential township.

Various programme such as seminar, essay writing & drawing competition on the subject of cleanliness were organized for all employees, their spouses and children during this fortnight. 

At the valedictory program on Tuesday, prizes were distributed to the winners of the respective category of essay writing and painting competition.
