New Delhi: Bimlendu Kumar is set to be new Director (Personnel) of Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Coal. Kumar's name has been recommended for the post by a Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Tuesday. He is currently serving as General Manager (Admin) at Central Coalfields Limited (CCL).
Kumar has been selected for the post of Director (Personnel), NCL, from a list of nine candidates who were interviewed in the selection meeting. A total of two candidates who were on the list were from CCL, two candidates were from Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) and others were from Coal India Limited (CIL), Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), NLC India Limited, Indian Telecommunication Service and Metro Cash and Carry Private Limited.
NCL is a subsidiary of the largest coal producer of the world-the Coal India Limited (CIL). NCL produces 15 percent of the total coal produced in the country and contributes 10 percent in total electricity generation of the nation.
