BSNL’s D Porpathasekaran set to be next Director (Technical) of TCIL

New Delhi: D Porpathasekaran is set to be the next Director (Technical) of Telecommunications Consultants (India) Limited (TCIL), a PSU under the Department of Telecommunications (DoT). He has been recommended the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Wednesday. He is currently serving as Principal General Manager in Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL).

Porpathasekaran has been recommended for the post of Director (Technical) of TCIL from a list of six candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel in its selection meeting held on March 23. There were a total of three candidates, who were on the list, were from TCIL and one candidate each from Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL), Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and Indian Telecommunication Service.

As Director (Technical) of TCIL, Porpathasekaran will be a member of the Board of Directors and will report to the Chairman & Managing Director (CMD). He will be responsible for general administration, corporate planning, international business, market development and information systems and providing technical guidance to the company.
