

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved a number of secretary-level appointments and transfers on Monday.

According to an order issued from the Department of Personnel & Traning (DoPT) issued on August 10, Pallavi Jain Govil (IAS), presently Secretary of Department of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, has been appointed as Secretary in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, succeeding Deepti Gaur Mukerjee.
Deepti Gaur Mukerjee (IAS), presently serving as Secretary at the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, has been appointed as Secretary of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, succeeding Vineet Joshi.
Sushil Kumar Lohani (IAS), presently Officer on Special Duty in the Cabinet Secretariat, has been appointed as Chairman of Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India. The post has been temporarily upgraded to Secretary level. He will succeed Sunil Paliwal.

VL Kantha Rao (IAS), presently Secretary in the Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Ministry of Jal Shakti, has been appointed Officer on Special Duty in the Department of Official Language under the Ministry of Home Affairs, in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India. He will take over as Secretary of the department after the superannuation of Ansuli Arya (IAS), on September 30, 2026.
Archana Varma (IAS), presently Mission Director at the National Water Mission, Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, has been appointed Secretary of the department, succeeding VL Kantha Rao.
Meanwhile, Sunil Paliwal (IAS), the current Chairman of Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI), has been appointed Secretary in the Department of Youth Affairs under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, succeeding Pallavi Jain Govil.
