ACC Appointments: Govt promotes 3 IPS officers on Thursday

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs for the appointments of three IPS officers namely Vivek Gogia, RA Chandra Sekhar and Piyush Anand to assign new responsibilities to them on Thursday.

According to an order issued from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) on February 22, Vivek Gogia (IPS) has been appointed as Director of National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) on in-situ basis by temporary upgradation of the post of Director held by the officer for a tenure up to his superannuation on July 31, 2025 from the date of assumption of charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He is a 1991-batch IPS officer of AGMUT cadre.

Further, RA Chandra Sekhar (IPS) has been promoted to the post of Special Director in Intelligence Bureau (IB) on in situ basis by temporarily upgrading the post of Addl. Director held by the officer for a tenure of two years from the date of assumption of charge of the post and till further orders, whichever is earlier.

Sekhar is a 1991-batch IPS officer of Kerala Cadre. Presently, he is posted as Additional Director in Intelligence Bureau (IB).

And, Piyush Anand (IPS) has been appointed as Special Director General of CISF on in-situ basis by temporarily upgrading the post held by the officer for a tenure of two years from the date of assumption of charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Anand is a 1991-batch IPS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre. He is presently posted as Additional Director General in CISF.
