New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Nitika Pawar (IAS), to the post of General Manager (Region) at the Food Corporation of India (FCI), Regional Office, Chandigarh, which oversees the Punjab Region.
Pawar is a 2012-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of AGMUT cadre.
According to the order, Pawar has been appointed on a lateral shift basis at the Director-level position on deputation under the Department of Food and Public Distribution. Her tenure will be for a period of three years from the date of assuming charge of the post, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The competent authority has directed that she be relieved of her present duties immediately to enable her to take up the new assignment. Her appointment is expected to strengthen FCI’s regional operations in Punjab, a key procurement and storage hub in the country’s foodgrain management system.
