ACC approves appointment of Vinayak Bhat (IRS) as Private Secretary to MoS V Somanna

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Vinayak Bhat, an Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes) officer of the 2009 batch, as Private Secretary to Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti and Railways V. Somanna in the Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation.

According to a DoPT order, the ACC has also approved the curtailment of Bhat’s tenure as Director in the Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation under the Central Staffing Scheme.

Bhat will serve as Private Secretary to the Minister at the level of Director for a period up to May 28, 2028, which is the balance period of his five-year tenure under the Central Staffing Scheme.

The appointment will be effective from the date he assumes charge of the post and will remain on a co-terminus basis with the Minister or until he ceases to function as Private Secretary to the Minister, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

The appointment has been made in the Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation under the Ministry of Jal Shakti.
