New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved a comprehensive set of senior-level bureaucratic appointments and reshuffles across multiple ministries and departments, covering postings, lateral movements and upgradations to the rank of Secretary to the Government of India.

As part of the changes, Nivedita Shukla Verma (IAS), currently Secretary, Department of Chemicals and Petro-Chemicals under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions. She will also hold additional charge as Secretary, Department of Pensions and Pensioners’ Welfare.

Chanchal Kumar (IAS), Secretary in the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, has been appointed Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, in place of Sanjay Jaju (IAS), who will take over as Secretary, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region.

Narendra Bhooshan (IAS), presently in the cadre, has been appointed Secretary, Department of Land Resources under the Ministry of Rural Development.

Chandra Sekhar Kumar (IAS), Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the National Rainfed Area Authority under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, in the rank and pay of Secretary.

Following this, Srivatsa Krishna (IAS), Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, has been appointed Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs vice Chandra Sekhar Kumar.

Tejveer Singh (IAS), presently in the cadre, has been appointed Secretary, Department of Chemicals and Petro-Chemicals under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, replacing Nivedita Shukla Verma (IAS).

In the financial services domain, Sanjay Lohiya (IAS), Additional Secretary, Ministry of Mines, has been appointed Special Secretary, Department of Financial Services under the Ministry of Finance by temporarily upgrading a vacant post. He will take over as Secretary, Department of Financial Services upon the superannuation of Nagaraju Maddirala (IAS) on May 31, 2026.

Rohit Kansal (IAS), Additional Secretary, Ministry of Textiles, has been appointed Secretary, Department of Rural Development under the Ministry of Rural Development, replacing Shailesh Kumar Singh (IAS) upon his superannuation on March 31.

Bharat Harbanslal Khera (IAS), Additional Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, has been appointed Officer on Special Duty in the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in the rank of Secretary. He will assume full charge as Secretary after the superannuation of Subhas Chandra Lal Das on April 30, 2026.

Abhishek Singh (IAS), Director General, National Informatics Centre under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, has been appointed Director General, National Testing Agency under the Ministry of Education in the rank and pay of Secretary by temporarily upgrading the post.

Bhuvnesh Kumar (IAS), Chief Executive Officer, Unique Identification Authority of India, has been appointed Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, replacing Srivatsa Krishna.

Additionally, the ACC approved in-situ upgradation of Sanjay Rastogi (IAS), Director General, National Archives of India under the Ministry of Culture, to the rank and pay of Secretary. Similarly, Sajjan Singh Yadav (IAS), Additional Secretary, Department of Expenditure under the Ministry of Finance, has been upgraded as Special Secretary in the same department in the rank and pay of Secretary.
