New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has given its ex-post facto approval for assigning additional charge of the post of Chairperson of National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET) to Debashree Mukherjee (IAS) on Monday.
Mukherjee is a 1991-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of AGMUT cadre. Presently, she is serving as Secretary in the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE).
According to an order issued from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) on September 22, Mukherjee will hold the additional charge for a period of six months with effect from September 1, 2025. The tenure will continue until the appointment of a regular incumbent, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The NCVET functions as a regulator for vocational education and training, ensuring quality assurance and standardization in skill development initiatives across the country.
