

New Delhi: Amit Kumar, an officer of the Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS) of the 2014 batch, has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Steel, Delhi. His appointment has been made under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of four years from the date of assumption of charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Kumar was recommended for Central deputation by the Department of Defence. The order further directs that he be relieved of his present duties immediately to enable him to take up the new assignment in the Ministry of Steel.
The appointment is part of the routine exercise of placing experienced officers from various services in key positions across ministries to strengthen administrative efficiency and policy implementation.
