Ashish Upadhyaya & Ravi Kumar Arora appointed as govt nominee directors at NBCC

New Delhi: Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) vide its office order dated November 23, nominated Ashish Upadhyaya, SS&FA, MoHUA and Ravi Kumar Arora, Joint Secretary (L&E), MoHUA as government nominee directors on the board of NBCC (India) Limited. The new directors have been appointed with immediate effect and until further orders, stated a mandatory filing by the company.

"Further, it was also informed that above appointments have been made in place of
Shaym Sunder Dubey, former JS & FA, MoHUA and Kamran Rizvi, former
Additional Secretary (D&UT), MoHUA respectively. Accordingly, Shaym Sunder
Dubey and Kamran Rizvi ceased to be Government Nominee Directors of the
company with effect from November 23," said the regulatory filing.

In addition to this, the company also said, "The Board of Directors of the company at its Board Meeting held on November 30 appointed Ashish Upadhyaya and Ravi Kumar Arora as the Government Nominee Director on the Board of NBCC w.e.f. November 23."

Ashish Upadhyay is an IAS Officer from 1989 batch Madhya Pradesh cadre. He has served for more than 31 years in various capacities in state government. He has served as the Additional District Collector in coal bearing areas of Anuppur, Shahdol and Umaria. Upadhyay has serves as Secrertary and Principal Secretary of various departments include Home, Finance and Higher Education for many years. As a Joint Secretary, Coal, he has been instrumental in developing systems by application of space technology for curbing illegal mining. While being in the service, he continued his pursuit for education and completed post-graduation in Economics. He also did his Masters' Degree in Public Administration.

Ravi Kumar Arora is an IAS Officer from Gujarat cadre and joined the service in 2006. He had completed his Masters' Degree in Public Policy. He has served four districts in Gujarat including Mahisagar, Navsari, Bharuch and Valsad. During his central deputation, he served as the Principal Secretary to External Affairs Minister. Currently, he is the Joint Secretary at MoHUA and is overseeing matters pertaining to L&DO, Dte of estates and NBCC.
