B Vijay Datta (IAS) promoted to Director-level in Urban Affairs Ministry

New Delhi: The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) has approved the proposal for the re-designation of B Vijay Datta (IAS) as Private Secretary (Director level) to the Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs & Power, Manohar Lal Khattar. This decision has been taken as a measure personal to Datta, and it will come into effect from the date he assumes charge of the re-designated post.

Datta is an officer of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) from the 2011 Madhya Pradesh cadre. Presently, he is serving as Private Secretary (at Deputy Secretary level) to the same Minister.

According to an order issued from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Datta's tenure for re-designation has been specified as up to January 19, 2027, or on a co-terminus basis with the tenure of the Minister, or until he ceases to function as the Private Secretary to the Minister, or until further orders, whichever occurs earlier.
