Bureaucratic Reshuffle: Govt clears appointment of 13 bureaucrats

New Delhi: In a major bureaucratic-level reshuffle, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), headed by the Prime Minister, has approved the appointment of as many as 13 bureaucrats on Tuesday. Here is the full list of newly appointed officers:-

BV Umadevi (IFoS) has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs. She is a 1987-batch Indian Forest Service (IFoS) officer of Chhattisgarh cadre and is currently posted Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change.

Shashank Goel (IAS) has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Labour and Employment. Goel is a 1990-batch IAS officer of Telangana cadre. He is currently posted in his home cadre.

Shailesh Kumar Singh (IAS) has been appointed as Additional Secretary and Development Commissioner, in the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME). Singh is a 1991-batch IAS officer of Jharkhand cadre and is presently posted in his home cadre.

Manish Kumar Gupta (IAS) has been appointed as Vice Chairman of Delhi Development Authority (DDA) under the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA) in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary. Gupta is a 1991-batch IAS officer of Uttrakhand cadre and presently serving in the same role at the Secretary level.

Chanchal Kumar (IAS) has been appointed as Managing Director of National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDC) under the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary. Kumar is a 1992-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Bihar cadre and is presently posted in his home cadre.

Ashish Srivastava (IAS) has been appointed as Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser in the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare by cancelling the order dated December 4, 2021, regarding his appointment as Additional Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat. Srivastava is a 1992-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre. He is currently posted as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Women and Child Development.

Hari Ranjan Rao (IAS) has been appointed as Administrator in Universal Service Obligation Fund under the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary. Rao is a 1994-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre. He is currently serving as Additional Secretary in DoT.

VL Kantha Rao (IAS) has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Department of Telecommunications (DoT). Rao is a 1992-batch IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre. He is currently posted as Additional Secretary and Director General (Acquisition) in the Ministry of Defence. He has been appointed to the post in-place of Hari Ranjan Rao (IAS) upon his appointment as Administrator in the Universal Service Obligation Fund.

Pankaj Agrawal (IAS) has been appointed as Additional Secretary and Director General (Acquisition) in the Ministry of Defence. Agrawal is a 1992-batch IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre and is currently posted as Additional Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat. He has been appointed to the post in-place of VL Kantha Rao (IAS) upon his appointment as Additional Secretary in the Department of Telecommunications.

Vikram Dev Dutt (IAS) has been appointed as Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of Air India Limited under the Ministry of Civil Aviation in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary. Dutt is a 1993-batch IAS officer of Uttrakhand cadre and is currently posted in his home cadre.

Anuradha Thakur (IAS) has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. Thakur is a 1994-batch IAS officer of Himachal Pradesh. She is currently posted as Additional Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat.

Santosh Kumar Sarangi (IAS) has been appointed as Director General in the Directorate General of Foreign Trade under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary. Sarangi is a 1994-batch IAS officer of Odisha cadre. He is currently posted as Additional Secretary in the Department of School Education and Literacy under the Ministry of Education.

Naresh Pal Gangwar (IAS) has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change. Gangwar is a 1994-batch IAS officer of Rajasthan cadre. He is currently posted Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change. He has been appointed to the post in place of BV Umadevi upon her appointment as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Further, the ACC has also approved the extension in the Central deputation tenure of Ashutosh Jindal (IAS) for a period of one year beyond February 16, 2022, i.e. up to February 16, 2023.  Jindal is a 1995-batch IAS officer of Tripura cadre. He is currently serving as Additional Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat.
