
New Delhi: The Government of India has appointed Chandra Madhav Singh (IRS), an Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes) officer of the 2015 batch, as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Consumer Affairs, Delhi.
Singh, who was recommended for Central deputation by the Department of Revenue, has been selected for the post under the Central Staffing Scheme. His tenure will be for a period of four years from the date of assuming charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has directed that Singh be relieved of his current responsibilities at the earliest, enabling him to take up his new assignment in the Department of Consumer Affairs without delay.
The Department of Consumer Affairs, under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, is responsible for protecting consumer interests, ensuring fair trade practices, and addressing grievances related to consumer rights in India.
