New Delhi: The Central government has approved the appointment of Debajyoti Dutta (IAS) to the post of Director of Census Operations (DCO)/ Director of Citizen Registration (DCR) (Deputy Secretary level), Assam. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Dutta has been appointed to the post under the Central Staffing Scheme with effect from the date of taking over charge of the post and for a period up to December 31, 2025, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Dutta is a 2010-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the AGMUT cadre. "The State Government is requested to relieve Shri Debajyoti Dutta, lAS (AM:2010), immediately with directions to take up his new assignment as DCO/DCR, Assam, under intimation to this Department and the Registrar General and Census Commissioner, India, Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi, the order further reads."
In a separate order issued on the same day, the government approved the appointment of Dr Niruparna Dange (IAS) to the post of Director of Census Operations (DCO)/ Director of Citizen Registration (DCR) (Director level), Maharashtra. She has also been appointed to the post under the Central Staffing Scheme, wef date of taking over the charge of the post and for a period up to 31.12.2025 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Dange is a 2007-batch IAS officer of the Maharashtra cadre.
