Debapriya Bardhan (IAS) appointed as Director in Department of Expenditure

New Delhi: Debapriya Bardhan (IAS) has been appointed as Director in the Department of Expenditure under the Central Staffing Scheme. He is a 2012-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Tripura cadre. He was recommended for the Central deputation by the Department of Expenditure.

According to an order issued from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) on March 31, Bardhan will be appointed to the post for a period of five years from the date of assumption of charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Bardhan has held key administrative roles in the state, including serving as District Magistrate in multiple districts and as Special Secretary in departments such as Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs.

He has experience in both field administration and policy-level roles in the Tripura government. He has now been appointed as Director in the Department of Expenditure under the Central Staffing Scheme.
