
New Delhi: The Central Government on Wednesday has appointed two senior officers namely- Deepak Kumar (ISS) and Aashwita Lal (IRS) to post of Deputy Secretary and Director in NITI Aayog rescpetivly.
As per two separate orders issued from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Deepak Kumar, a 2013-batch Indian Statistical Service (ISS) officer, has been selected for the role of Deputy Secretary at NITI Aayog. He was recommended for Central deputation by the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation and will serve in this position for a tenure of four years or until further orders.
The DoPT order has directed that he be relieved of his current duties immediately to take up his new assignment.
Similarly, Aashwita Lal, an Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax) officer from the 2008 batch, has been appointed as Director at NITI Aayog. She was nominated by the Department of Revenue for Central deputation and will hold the post for a period of five years or until further notice. The DoPT has instructed her immediate release from present responsibilities to assume charge of the new role.
Both officers were recommended for the central depuation under the Central Staffing Scheme.
Both appointments align with the directives of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), which mandates that officers must join their respective positions within three weeks from the date of issue of the appointment order, failing which debarment proceedings from the Central Staffing Scheme may be initiated.
