New Delhi: The Government of India has appointed Dinesh Hariram Mate, a 2012-batch officer of the Indian Audit and Accounts Service (IA&AS), as Deputy Director General (DDG) in the Directorate General of Shipping, Mumbai, under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways.

According to an Office Memorandum issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on November 4, Mate was recommended for Central deputation by the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India. He has been appointed to the post at the Deputy Secretary level under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of four years from the date of assuming charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

The order further states that the officer should be relieved of his present duties immediately to take up his new assignment in the Directorate General of Shipping, Mumbai. As per the directions of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), officers appointed under the Central Staffing Scheme are required to join their new posts within three weeks from the date of issue of the appointment order.
