New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the empanelment of GP Singh (IAS) in the Central Government. According to a notification issued on August 7, Singh along with 13 IPS officers have been empanelled for holding posts at the level of DG/DG equivalent in the Government of India.
Singh is an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of 1991-batch. Presently, he was posted as Director General of Police (DGP) of Assam Police.
Singh has served in Central agencies like Special Protection Group (SPG) and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in the past before being called back from central deputation to Assam during the anti-Citizenship (Amendment) Act protests.

Amrit Mohan Prasad (OR, 1989);
Praveen Vashista (BH, 1991);
R A Chandra Sekhar (KL, 1991);
Alok Ranjan (MP, 1991);
A Sunil Achaya (NL, 1991);
Alok Sharma (UP, 1991);
Piyush Anand (UP, 1991);
Vivek Gogia (UT, 1991);
B. Radhika (OR, 1989);
Pratap Reddy (KN, 1991);
Dharam Chand Jain (RJ, 1991) and
Rashmi Ranjan Swain (UT, 1991).
